Description
Main Entry: la·cri·mae re·rum
Pronunciation: "lä-kri-"mI-'rA-"rum
Function: foreign term
Etymology: Latin
: tears for things : pity for misfortune; also : tears in things : tragedy of life
-----
Tried to represent the four elements in the obvious shape of a tear drop. I don't want to sound too topical, so I'll step off my soapbox for this one when I say that it seems bleakly representative of Earths future state if the path continues to be dominated by human ignorance and ego.
-----
Used Apo3d
slight Pitch, only 20 degrees
slight zTranslate 0.01 I think
Ngon variation, with only 4 Transforms and the default random gradient when the program was opened.
Postprocess was not needed on this one even though I was extremely eager to play with it finally after reading CabinTom's post render tutorial [link]
Went out on a limb and used 1.0 FR
OS 5 (6 needed more memory than I had available unfortunately)
and 12,000 quality
Rendered at 600x1200
And it worked beautifully I think!
I'm going to pull my own goat here and say that the quality of this particular render is what I have been trying to obtain since I first downloaded Apo years ago. I am extremely pleased with the refinement of this render.
Thank you to everyone who responded to my Note and generously supplied suggestions, tutorials and personal preferences:
